"The State Vs. Radric Davis"

The highly anticipated album from Radric ‘Gucci Mane' Davis has been in stores now for just over a week. "The State Vs. Radric Davis" was dropped on the eighth of this month, and is Gucci Mane's first studio album since "Back To The Traphouse" was released in December of 2007. Gucci Mane has been one of the hottest mixtape artists for the past couple of years, but now he puts his skills to a bigger test as he releases his sixth studio album.

"The State Vs. Radric Davis" is titled such because on May 10, 2005 in Decatur, Georgia, Radric Davis was attacked by a group of men at his house. After the attack, one of Gucci Mane's accomplices shot at the enemy and the next day a dead body was found. The police investigated and Gucci Mane turned himself in on May 19, 2005. After this incident, many more were to follow. The attack on Gucci in his Decatur home was just the beginning to a series of many future jail visits.

The album features production from Polow da Don, Drumma Boy, Mannie Fresh, and others, and contains guest appearances from artists such as Usher, Plies, Lil Wayne, Cam'ron, Rick Ross, OJ da Juiceman, only to name a few. "The State Vs. Radric Davis" debuted at number ten on the Billboard 200 and sold just fewer than 90,000 copies within the first week. Since this album was his most successful album of his career, Gucci Mane announced that his next two albums will be parts of a trilogy.

This album is Gucci Mane's most important album of his career. Much of his work has been more underground and street than mainstream. "The State Vs. Radric Davis" is full of hits that will earn him more street credibility, but also gain fans who appreciate the club bangers. The single "Spotlight," featuring Usher will attract many of the female listeners and hopefully lure them to buy this ‘stupid and wild' album which has been in stores for just over a week.
