Welcome to the February 28 edition of The Start Button, a weekly news short article aimed at bringing you quick and fun video gaming news to start your Monday morning.

Japanese Retailers Sold Out of 3DS

Reports from overseas are stating that the Nintendo 3DS sold all of it's first shipment in it's Japanese release over the weekend, requiring extra stock to be sent to stores for the next business day.

While it's not likely we'll see lines of 700 to 1,000 people as the Japanese reports note, Nintendo's latest in it's longtime stranglehold on the portable market is due to arrive in North America on March 27 and should see more buzz at that date approaches.

Thor Says It's Hammer Time

Recently this space on Examiner.com featured Thor Aackerlund, the Dallas-area gamer best known for winning the grand Nintendo World Championships in 1990.

Thor has now started a blog website where he and other former NWC competitors and writers share their thoughts on a variety of video game and entertainment topics.

You can check it out at www.LostHammer.com .

Condition Wed! Condition Wed!

The 1984 Arcade in Springfield, MO has laid claim to another world record holder as James Bakeman's score on the underrated classic Bosconian is verified by Twin Galaxies.

Bakeman took the top spot on the Tournament Setting (5-lives only) track on this Namco/Midway title from 1981 by racking up 451,540 points at the classic-themed arcade.

1984 Arcade's most famous record breaking gamer would be Mark Kiehl, the man who has claimed the Donkey Kong Junior World Record on several occasions now, taking that record from both Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell to do so.
