The Spring Showcase offers Philadelphia a New Film Festival

Cinephiles everywhere rejoice! The Philadelphia Film Society announced yesterday that they were launching a new film festival set to take place this Spring. Titled “The Spring Showcase” the new festival will run from April 13-17, 2014.

"I'm thrilled to add this exciting new event to the PFS 2014 calendar, allowing us to spotlight some of our favorite upcoming films from the Spring and Summer while also showcasing the newly renovated PFS Theater at the Roxy," said Andrew Greenblatt, Executive Director. "With the event scheduled to take place principally at the PFS Theater at the Roxy, I certainly recommend getting tickets early, as I hope and expect a full sell-out."

The Spring Showcase will give audiences a taste of what they can expect on a larger scale with the annual Philadelphia Film Festival held each Fall. This isn’t the first time that the Spring has seen a film festival. Before moving to the fall in 2009, The Philadelphia Film Festival used to be held in the Spring.
