Most of us have heard the term "coming out of the closet". Few of us realize or perhaps admit that there are all kinds of closets in which human beings can hide. Perhaps "the spiritual closet" is the most overlooked.

Being afraid or embarrassed to share one's spiritual gifts and experiences keeps us in this closet, preventing us from expressing our Divine gifts and talents. Quite plainly, we get in our own way, and block the Divine guidance lovingly sent us.

Hiding one's spiritual nature and gifts includes ignoring signs and Divine messages given us from our Guardian Angels, Archangels, and Spirit guides. In some cases, these are important messages given us to share. These messages can come to us in words, thoughts, visions, feelings, and dreams.

Fear ultimately prevents us from finding like-minded others who walk the path with us. When we join forces with kindred folk, we strengthen the communication between the higher realms and ourselves.

Religious persecution is nothing new, and it is perhaps the worst kind of religious persecution from past lives that put some of us in the closet, in the first place.

Those who practiced witchcraft, performed miracles, or saw profound visions, sometimes lost their lives for going public with their Divine knowledge and gifts.

Why would we have these gifts, at all, except to share them?

Chances are that if you are reading this article you have an interest in matters otherworldly. That is a good sign, because it means that you have an interest in expanding yourself, spiritually. When we chose to do so, with good intent, we open the doorway to helping others.

What do you keep in your spiritual closet?

Let's look inside…

What kinds of gifts are there for you to share?

Perhaps you hide your healing energy of touch, as in Reiki, or the gift of music that can calm, awaken, and portend enlightening messages.

Could it be that your gift lies in visual arts, dance, or public speaking?

Perhaps you are a closet building or landscape architect who would relish designing green spaces for people to live, whereby enhancing the environment.  Actually, with pure intent for the good of all, these, too, are spiritual gifts.

Intent is everything!

It may be that your gift involves utilizing the written word, turning the mind to ponder where the soul may traverse beyond the obvious. Aldous Huxley is a fine example of a devoted author turned prophetic mystic.  In his books, "Brave New World" and volume of recorded lectures, "The Human Situation" we find predictions about a future the author foresaw or possibly channeled.

Perhaps you channel Divine wisdom or messages from deceased loved ones to help clients, family, and friends release the past and heal. Edgar Cayce helped many people in this way.

Connecting with the Earth is a very spiritual gift, if we allow ourselves to express it as such. Ways in which to do this is can be through helping animals, working with crystals and gemstones, and organic gardening. These activities, skills, and interests connect us with the Elemental Realm that wishes to guide us in healing the Earth. Elementals include fairies, elves, sprites, and gnomes. Don't laugh! There have been many reported sightings of such beings throughout history!  ("I do believe in fairies, I do, I do, I do!")

Everyone has spiritual gifts to share, and no time is better than the present to come out of your spiritual closet and share them!

We all know Oprah, but how many know that she came out of her spiritual closet to go Vegan?  Albeit this lasted only 21 days, her coming out made people think about their over all health, and the suffering of innocent animals in factory farms and slaughter houses.

Those aspirants aware of the current state of human evolution will tell you that the higher realms are more available to us than ever before. This is because reaching higher realization will enable us to heal and save our planet and its inhabitants. First, of course, we must accept our gifts as meaningful, and learn the joy of sharing without judging or holding back.

No matter how vast or small, if the source of your sharing is LOVE, you have much to give that will better this world! Every spark of love adds to the eternal flame of realization. A little light can illuminate the darkest corners.

It is lonely in the closet!

Come out and play!

The choirs of angels and symphony of kindred Lightworkers will join you readily to heal the planet!

Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your article. Many good points and observations. I think we have lost touch with what speaks to us from inside and yes, it is still difficult to find acceptance by friends and family when your beliefs vary at all from their comfort zone. Hopefully it continues to get bettter with time and understanding.

Thanks, Deb, for your wonderful comment. Yes, I truly hope that people will realize what is truly important, which is being true to oneself and one's purpose in this life. Spending an entire lifetime regretting that one did not reach one's potential is a unncessary. Peer pressure should not rule us, not should fear. We were meant to shine in God's image... the image of Love, Light, and Caring. Joy is there for everyone to find and share.
