There is a major shift taking part not only in the American culture, but in a worldwide view that has turmoil promised to it. Only one source has correctly identified what has manifested in our culture, and that is the old fashioned Bible that is allegedly outdated, irrelevant and a myth. Even If one ignores the primary issues, you still have a prophetic track record that is being fulfilled in our time.
The most telling issue regarding a spiritual shift taking place is to look at the perception of marriage. There is a stunning conversion taking place that has out-stripped crucial social issues as racial equality, women’s rights, LGBT rights and even abortion. While it is taking decades and even centuries to shift the perceptions on the aforementioned issues, marriage perceptions are shifting drastically within the last 5-years.
The Defense of Marriage Act instituted by a wide majority of both parties in the late 1990s is now seen as a vehicle of oppression by those looking to liberalize the definition of marriage. Although omitting federal benefits to same sex couples was a bad idea in execution, the purpose to define marriage by the Judeo-Christian standards was the intent of DOMA. The idea was valid due to attempts to expand the marriage definition back then as now.

Rewarding money and benefits to un-wed mothers helped to encourage those to remain unmarried in our social welfare system. If the husband or boyfriend abandoned the female, then the welfare system gave the female more benefits. Traditional marriage values are under assault and the collateral damage from anti-traditional marriage diatribe is taking an impact on America’s marriage foundation. When the CEO of Chick-Fil-A merely declared he was for traditional marriage, a blizzard of protest erupted from many types of venues both socially and politically.
The CEO of Starbucks recently declared that if anyone was for traditional marriage, they did not want their business. Hardly a single protest arose from this statement. Has our traditional marriage beliefs become the new standard for intolerance? Any civilization’s marriage status has been a critical ingredient for continued success.
The growing intolerance towards religious standards that are Judeo-Christian is a consistent theme in areas besides marriage. Church vandalism and violence has increased sharply, religious freedoms have been curtailed, and America’s spiritual association with the country of Israel is being severely tested.
In the various church institutions themselves there is a radical change taking place that is pulling away from the traditional values that made the churches strong and maintained the moral fiber of the individuals attending. Divorce is now quite more common inside the church due to the lack of reinforcement to the marriage principle. The Bible’s warning against sexual immorality is winked at by clinging to worldly standards that dehumanize relationships.
The spirit of the anti-Christ is clearly at work and the marked increase in Christian persecution against the people and standards is well documented. Religious persecution is a warning the Bible declared long ago. The world today is the most dangerous for Christians in expressing their faith by far. More people are being killed or imprisoned for their Christian faith than any time in history. This hatred is spilling over to the Jewish religion which gave birth to the Christian experience. Those pretending that Israel is not a spiritual issue have deluded themselves.

Those versed in the rank of angels know that principalities and powers are angels that are part of the Satan’s army. The battle clearly is spiritual.
