The Sony PS Vita event showcases Final Fantasy X HD

On Feb. 18, 2013, at an event for the PS Vita, developers at Square Enix gave us a glimpse of the new upcoming HD re-mastered version of Final Fantasy X. While the footage is limited, the intention was to present the graphical improvements of real-time gameplay. The models of the main characters, Tidus and Yuna, were shown in much sharper detail than in the original release back in 2001 for the PS2.

The character animations look smoother and flowing with less stiffness and more attention to detail. The colors of the surroundings are noticeably brighter and vivid in color as well. No pre-rendered cut-scenes were displayed to show off any HD brilliance, so the video is nothing spectacular.

This remake was announced close to two years ago and plans to release not only for the PS Vita, but somewhere along the line for the PS3 as well. No news of an exact release date for the game has been scheduled, but it's sure to draw attention for long-time fans of the series until the day arrives.
