Golfers in the hunt for rounds with a touch more bite are invited to give the Slammer Tour a look-see.

The Slammer Tour is a match-play golf league organized by Executive Golf (ClubEG) for public players in the Ottawa-Gatineau region who want to improve their games, learn the rules and compete with others of their own skill level in a positive setting.

“Everyone can come out and golf with us. We have divisions for rookies, beginners, pros, and seniors,” said Andy Rajhathy, vice-president of ClubEG.

The tour has ongoing daily events at 50 courses, anyone can join - whether he or she shoots in the 70s, 80s, 90s or 100s - and a first-year membership is free.”

The selection of tracks is impressive and includes such premium layouts as The Marshes Golf Club, Greyhawk, Rivermead and Carleton.

“Our tour is designed to pair up players with others of a similar skill level and it has the bonus of giving lower ranked golfers the opportunity to take on the top ranked players,” said Rajhathy. “And while the tour is competitive, we always have fun features in the mix.”

This year ClubEG has added to the fun factor by organizing monthly nine and dines at several courses.

“The EG Nine and Dines allow beginners or completely new golfers to come out and experience the game in a comfortable environment,” Rajhathy said. “We’ll be rotating the nine and dines between different EG partner courses each month for nine holes of golf in a two-person scramble format. There will be lots of laughs, a different meal each week and tons of prizes.”
