Proving to Miley Cyrus that Wrecking Ball Nudity was Not Necessary is this wonderful video compilation. Enjoy, I know I did.
This past week, Sinead O’Connor wrote an open letter to Miley Cyrus after the press hounded her about how she felt about Miley saying that the music video concept of Wrecking Ball was inspired from Sinead O’Connor and “Nothing Compares.” The open letter was full of great advice for Miley see it here. http://www.sineadoconnor.com/2013/10/open-letter-to-miley-cyrus/
Today a music video compilation by Robin Skouteris which combines both Wrecking Ball and Nothing Compares and the close up shots of both artists has gone live on YouTube and is hitting 6 digit views. You can view it by clicking this link: http://youtu.be/rDcTgaoVwvs or watching the embedded video attached to this article.
Some folks are speculating that this past week has all been a publicity stunt by Lorne Michaels, producer of Saturday Night Live and that Sinead will show up on the show tonight. It would be great if that was the case but I don’t follow that line of thinking.
Miley has always loved the spotlight directly on her and I don’t think she wants to share that spotlight with Sinead on any level. I do hope that this compilation of the two songs makes it’s bigger than Wrecking Ball on its own and maybe that will demonstrate that you don’t have to take your clothes off to have a hit song. The writers on record of Wrecking Ball are MoZella, Stephan Moccio, Sacha Skarbek, Dr. Luke and Cirkut. This reminds me of the joke, how many light bulbs did it take…?
The songs are both so close musically that you have to wonder if the writer (the artist formerly known as Prince,”) of “Nothing Compares,” will seek legal action to get his part of the royalties for both Wrecking Ball and this collaboration of both songs. I hope this is brought to the attention of Prince so he can check it out and decides if his copyright has been infringed on and if that is the case that he can then make sure to get his piece of this pie.
