'The Simpsons’ to air Lego-themed episode this spring

It looks like “The Simpsons” are taking a page -- and a few bricks -- from “The Lego Movie.” The animated Fox family’s 550th episode will be a Lego-themed adventure, according to a Feb. 16 report from TV Line.

The episode “Brick Like Me,” is set to air on May 4, and will follow family patriarch Homer Simpson after he wakes up in a world where his family and all of the town’s residents are made of Legos. Homer must then “put together” the colorful pieces and get them all home to Springfield.

The timing couldn’t be better for the long-running primetime series, following the success of “The Lego Movie” at the box office.

Last month, Mashable posted the first official pics of a Simpson’s-themed Legos set, which features the TV family's iconic Springfield homes and a special 16-character line of mini-figures based on the show’s characters.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, in addition to the Legos set, the show’s 25th season will be marked with a bonanza of products, including a Homer Simpson Mr. Potato Head, Simpsons-themed Hot Wheels cars, a variety of plush toys, and a Simpsons-branded Grand Prix racing set.

Later this year, the Simpson clan will also crash an episode of "Family Guy."

Season 15 of "The Simpsons" resumes on March 9 on Fox.
