The Simplicity of Listening

Denise Fleissner Simplicity Examiner

In my experience as a professional organizer and writer, I have found most people like to engage in conversation rather than be told what to think, do, or feel. Even in a complex, fast-pace work or home environment -- where time seems to be a liability -- good listening skills may provide you with options that ultimately become better opportunities. Keeping an open mind and an open heart is a choice that may just change the direction of your life.

In January of this year, I published my first book titled, "The Guppy Way: Walking Her Daughter to Heaven." It is the true story of my late sister's walk to heaven after she passed away. In the hours and days following her death, my family would witness many miracles, helping us to know for certain that our loved one made it to heaven. Had I not listened to what was happening in the chaos around me and then trusted my instincts to just go with it, this story could never have been written.
