Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and while we live on earth, this would be our dress rehearsal. What good deeds we did on earth will be reflected on the next life.
Most of the people are petrified of death but the mere fact is the body we have is just temporary. The Bible is very specific that our body is temporary, and it is called tent. The Bible says: “When this tent we live in—our body here on earth—is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever.”
Remember, the two roads that we have to choose either the wide road, which has no rules, and anything goes, or the narrow road that is hard to walk by because of its sharp rocks. However, at the end of it is our reward?
The Bible says, “God has … planted eternity in the human heart.” We have inborn instinct to reach for immortality because of its eternal spirit. God has designed us to be like him, we are created in God’s image as Jesus made himself to be one of us and that is how God loves us so much.
Our main goal is eternity and if that’s the target how come we keep mocking of God’s existence? Why is he permitting us to do the things that is against his will?
God has given us the freedom to choose. We are not made like robots. However, we have given a brain to think between right and wrong. It is called, “free-will.”
While earth offers many choices, but the eternity offers two: either heaven or hell. It is our call to be in tuned with the Lord Jesus or the other way around. If we reject his love, forgiveness, and salvation, then, we will spend eternity apart from God.
C.S. Lewis said, “There are two kinds of people: those who say to God ‘Thy will be done’ and those to whom God says, ‘All right then, have it your way.’” The sad part we chose to be apart from God while on earth, and the consequences would be regrettable.
If you think that the earth, we live-in, is a preparation for the next life, which is eternity, then, perhaps our actions would be different. However, these day and age people act differently. We embrace to be rich and famous instead of reaching out to someone who is in need.
When we live in the light of eternity, our thinking changes … we use our time and money wisely, more values on relationships instead of money and fame.
God has a purpose while on earth … The Bible says, “God’s plans endure forever; his purposes last eternally.”
Most people think about eternity during funerals, and shallow thinking based on ignorance.
When we leave earth that would be our birthday in heaven, and we will meet our creator with open heart. The Bible says, “”This world is not our home; we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven.”
The deeds of this life will be carried out on the next, and we do not want to suffer the consequences because of our foolish actions.
Our reflection for this topic: Since all of us made to last forever, what would be the one thing that you should stop doing and the one you should be doing now?
