It was a shock when I heard the news that Robin Williams took his own life. I had to search online multiple places to believe that it was real. Questions ran thru my mind as to how this could happen. Being a Hypnotherapist and practitioner I know first hand that what many people put on the outside is not what is going on inside of their mind.
Yet, I still found myself sitting in shock on how a man that brought so many people joy and laughter could be so unhappy. I found myself asking the questions "Did anyone know?" or "Did he reach out for help?". And my thoughts went to his friends and family whom must be heartbroken to find out someone they loved has passed.
If you're like me, even though you did not know Robin personally you might find yourself at a loss for words and feel such a great sadness. Robin touched so many people with his work in acting and his volunteer work. For me it was like a part of my childhood just slipped through my fingertips. Which made me want to reach out even more to those that I love and extend my gratitude for them in my life. To really stop and thank God for my family and friends whom have supported me over the years.
But, what if you don't have support? Or what if you do but you feel you can't reach out to them with your deepest concerns? Where do you go? What can you do for help?
If you are suffering from depression or you just feel the need for support there are organizations out there that can help you. The important thing is that you take the time to reach out. YOUR LIFE MATTERS!
