The website Serebii.net has confirmed the start of a new giveaway for the current fifth generation Pokemon titles. This giveaway gives the trainer a Shiny Giratina, and the giveaway began on September 30, 2013. This giveaway is exclusive to GameStop stores, and will continue until October 20, 2013. This giveaway is compatible with “Pokemon Black,” “Pokemon White,” “Pokemon Black 2,” and “Pokemon White 2.”
The Shiny Giratina is received at level 100. It has the ability Pressure, and its nature is random. It will have the original trainer name of SUM2013 and the ID number 09303. Its four moves are Dragon Pulse, Dragon Claw, Shadow Force, and Aura Sphere.
Giratina is a legendary Pokemon that was introduced in the fourth generation, and was on the box art for the game “Pokemon Platinum.” It is a Ghost/Dragon-type Pokemon, which gives it a number of resistances. It specializes in both Physical and Special Defenses. Giratina also has the ability to change forms if it is holding the Griseous Orb item. This will change its stats, making it a Pokemon that is more focused on Physical and Special Attacks rather than Defense. It is a very good Pokemon when battling in the “Uber” tiers. However, Giratina is banned in most official Pokemon tournaments and most battles among Pokemon communities, such as the Smogon community.
It should be noted that the only two ways (other than this event) to get Giratina in the fifth generation of Pokemon is by trading the Pokemon from a fourth generation title or obtaining the Pokemon in the application “Pokemon Dream Radar.” Obtaining Giratina in “Pokemon Dream Radar” does require that the trainer owns a copy of “Pokemon Platinum,” however.
