The Secret World, an upcoming MMO set in the contemporary world, using elements of myth and conspiracy, has had its release date pushed back. Originally, the game was slated for a release in April, but now, the official website is reporting a new release date of June 19. From the announcement:

"Allowing for even more time to polish the game really shows just how much faith Funcom as a company has in ‘The Secret World’and how committed we are to making it the best it can be,” says Creative Director and Senior Producer Ragnar Tørnquist. “The additional time will also allow us to carry out even more quality beta testing, and soon we will also be announcing several public beta events where hundreds of thousands of gamers will get to test the game prior to launch."

The Secret World currently has 750,000 players in a closed beta test, with that number set to grow as the launch date approaches. While no firm prices have been set for the game, it's already been revealed that it will not be free to play, and will likely use a monthly subscription plan.
