The season of food is upon us

It's that marvelous time of year when its time to start planning the road trips, weekend getaways and the "To Go" lists of the season. We all love eating and drinking out!

There are wineries out there people. Martinis to imbibe and summery cocktails to be had up and down the coast. Heaps of clams, lobster, fries, fair food and food fairs.

I cannot wait to put the top down and drive with the promise of food to be discovered, secret off the beaten path gems of hospitality.

Put your "rump on a stump in Guilford," experience the Hungry Dog at the Owenego in Branford. Watch the boats come and go as you pry into a fabulous two pounder at Abbot's in Noank.

Take in the placid serenity of the Connecticut River from the Blue Oar in Haddam and right down the road on Rt 154, the Pilot house serves a great hot dog topped with even greater relish. Oh summer is coming!
