The SARATOGA 300 KM BREVET will be held on April 27th, 2014 and is a great tune up for the ADIRONDACK BREVET WEEK and our other longer events.
We'll start promptly at 4 AM from our event director's home at: 7 Pearl Street in SCHUYLERVILLE, NY. For directions and parking instructions, CLICK HERE.
Same day registration will be available beginning one hour before the start, and we're pleased to announce that we now accept credit cards for on-site registration and purchases. The weather looks good, with a high in the mid 50s, no rain in the forecast and a 12 MPH wind out of the north, which will give us a nice tailwind on the way home. This ride will be unsupported on the road and will be held rain or shine, but we'll have bagels and pocket food at the start and finish, including HAMMER NUTRITION gels, drinks and bars. We'll be using an out and back route to Elizabethtown, which is a neat little Adirondack village and the county seat for Essex County, which comprises the heart of the High Peaks region, with a return via the Warren County Bike Trail, which should be clear. I plan one last scouting trip and will make an announcement before the start. Lights and reflective gear will be required and most riders will only have about two hours of night riding, but if you take the full time limit, you can have up to 7 hours. Since the night portion will most likely be minimal and comes at the start, this is a great ride to use as an introduction to night riding and/or to make sure your lighting system is adequate for our longer rides.
To view our rider checklist, which has our minimum lighting requirements, CLICK HERE. We'll have a small selection of LIGHTS, BATTERIES, TIRES, TUBES and OTHER MERCHANDISE for sale at the start, in case you forgot something or need anything.
