The Galaxy S 4 Active was supposed to be the hottest phone on the market and on paper it truly is. Advanced graphics, a great user interface, one of the best screens available and fully integrated with your favorite apps.
No phone is better designed with, sexy styling, excellent color choices, thin lines, easy to hold and fits comfortably in every girl's clutch or handbag. The Galaxy S 4 Active comes with both a touch screen, plenty of action or voice activated functions and a few physical buttons.
These buttons are really practical at times when your hands are wet and you can't operate the touch screen. The Galaxy S 4 Active may easily be connected to your favorite car via Bluetooth, be used as a navigator with Google maps or other similar services and it's battery life far exceeds even the best Iphone ones.
Although the Galaxy S 4 Active is an amazing piece of technology, (perhaps even unmatched when it comes to user experience), there are some serious draw backs to owning one.
Samsung states that the GS4A is sturdy, water proof and capable of handling a day at the beach.
Nothing could be further from the truth! The GS4A's screen is really fragile. The weighting of the phone is off balance meaning that if you drop it, it will inevitably fall on the screen side as opposed to the backside which is made out of sturdy plastic. This makes it more likely for the screen to get scratched or cracked over time compared to other phones. The metal parts of the phone scratch easily and the beautiful paint comes off after a few weeks of use. Never put your phone in a bag close to your house keys it is a recipe for disaster!
AT&T's warranty covers all kinds of damages however if your GS4A screen gets, scratched, chipped or cracked you are on your own and will have to pay no less than 175 dollars for a replacement.
The GS4A isn't waterproof and if left in your bathroom during your daily shower steam builds up in areas such as the camera lens. Water damage can easily interfere with the operation of the physical buttons which often turn out to be faulty.
AT&T's Warranty will help if buttons stop working and will replace your phone at no charge, as well as make it very easy for you to send your faulty device back to them.
The GS4A is definitely the most advanced phone you can buy unless you are looking for something rugged to bring on your weekly beach adventure.
