The Sacramento Surge begin their second year in the Professional Arena Soccer League this Sunday against the Las Vegas Legends. Along with a redesigned logo, the team will play this season on a new pitch located in South Natomas (Estadio Azteca Soccer Arena). Two more expansion teams were added to the Pacific Division for the 2013-2014 season Bay Area Rosal and the Ontario Fury. These clubs will be replacing the Anaheim Bolts and Tacoma Stars (both franchise went on hiatus for the year).
The Surge are also looking forward to facing off with their local rival the Turlock Express (mark it down on your calender these dates January 11 and February 15, 2014). Last season's game in December against the Express was an all-time classic that brought down the house (7-6 overtime defeat that's one to remember). Surge stars Niko Brioso, Jason Martin, Jorge Fernandez, ATO and Juan Flores will be returning to the team as well as they look to improve and take on the rest of the league. This season looks bright as the team hopes to escape from the expansion shadow and become a strong contender for the Ron Newman Cup.
Sacramento Surge home games will be held on Saturday evenings at 7 PM (with the exception of the home opener) inside the cozy confines of the Estadio Azteca Soccer Arena. All seats for home games just are $10 for adults, $5 for children and $12 for adults at the door.
