The Sacramento Republic Football Club announced today that they will be affiliated with two Major League Soccer teams for the upcoming 2014 season. The two franchises are the Portland Timbers and the San Jose Earthquakes. With this agreement, the two MLS teams will provide a minimum if two players each to the Sacramento F.C. and it will help develop players on both levels. The Republic is the only team in the USL Pro (United Soccer Leagues) to be associated with two pro teams and the agreement is for the 2014 season.

This week the Republic is concluding its week long assessment of invited players. The team will began it's training camp on February 17th and only a select few of the assessed players will be invited back. Things are looking good for Sacramento F.C. as they're building a team that will bring it to the pitch when the season starts and hopefully avoid the expansion blues. The other team joining the League in 2014 will be the Oklahoma City Energy. Three more teams will join in 2015 making the USL Pro one of the fastest growing leagues.
