The S.H.I.E.L.D. truck caught on camera, on the way to the pilot's set (Photos)

The pilot for "Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D." begins filming on Tuesday, and on Sunday, two separate Twitter users posted tweets (1, 2) including images of a S.H.I.E.L.D. truck heading for the set.

The first one, from DiabloRobotico Gabe said:

Just drove past this. Fought every urge to follow. #Shield pic.twitter.com/WDRxc0yo

It was an image of the S.H.I.E.L.D. truck atop a carrier.

The second one showed the truck being loaded on the carrier. From Mike Ermalovich, it said:

#SHIELD #Marvel #Thor #CaptainAmerica I can't wait to sneak on set while they film tonight and watch! http://pic.twitter.com/mqK74XtJ

Admittedly, we'd love to see a S.H.I.E.L.D. heli-carrier rather than a mere truck, but this is television, not a mega-budget movie. Assuming it is picked up, the pilot for "Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D." is expected to air this fall.

In the series, Clark Gregg reprises his role as Agent Phil Coulson. He is joined by Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, and Chloe Bennet as Skye.

Joss Whedon is directing the pilot. He and his brother Jed and Maurissa Tancharoen are co-scripting the pilot.

It has been confirmed that the series will take place after the events of "The Avengers." That will make the resurrection of Agent Coulson a prime focus in the pilot; he was, as most know, killed in the movie "The Avengers."

However, as most also know, very few deaths are final in comic books, and presumably in comic book movie universes.
