Timothy Bradley has been a world champion since 2008. He began as a junior welterweight.
He is currently a promising welterweight.
Bradley will be making the first title defense of the WBO welterweight title on Saturday.
He attained it by defeating Manny Pacquiao last June.
He must now face the challenge that is Rusian Provodnikov.
The fight will take place at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California, and will be televised on HBO World Championship Boxing.
Bradley is currently being trained under former title contender Joel Díaz.
Bradley acquired a controversial win over Manny Pacquiao on June 9, 2012.
He slugged it out with Pacquiao and captured Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title by way of split decision.
The exceptional matchup ended Pacquiao's 7-year undefeated streak.
Provodnikov (22-1, 15 KOs) will fight for his first major title when he faces Bradley.
The Russian-born Provodnikov is currently being trained under Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California.
Provodnikov does not have the allure of other distinguished welterweights, but Roach claims that Provodnikov has the potential to destroy Bradley.
Provodnikov will have the support of many people. Russian actress/pop singer Alina Artts will be at the bout supporting Provodnikov.
Provodnikov is currently searching for a talented individual who can recite the Russian National Anthem well at the start of the fight.
In the co-feature, Jessie Vargas (21-0, 9 KOs) will take on Wale Omotoso for a 10-round welterweight fight.
There will also be a scheduled six-round featherweight bout featuring two-time Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez. His opponent is still to be determined.
I believe Provodnikov may win this fight.
Provodnikov owns a commanding and influential set of aspirations, which may grant him the respect of all dedicated boxing addicts everywhere.
