'The Romantics,' starring Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, opens Friday -- The Romantics, based on the novel by Galt Niederhoffer and starring Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin, and Josh Duhamel, opens on Friday, September 10, 2010.
Mr. Niederhoffer not only wrote the original novel, but he also wrote the screenplay adaptation and directed this film.
The story is about seven college friends who reunite for a wedding of one of them. Complications arise when the bride's maid of honor proclaims her longstanding love for the groom. The two share a history in a relationship together, so the claim goes deep.
Anna Paquin plays the bride, Lila Hayes, and Josh Duhamel plays the groom, Tom. Katie Holmes plays the role of the maid of honor, Laura Rosen.
The film runs 95 minutes and is rated PG-13 "for sexual content, partial nudity, language and some drug material."
