It was definitely a who's who at The Rolling Stove's inaugural lunch yesterday. @charmcityburger @burgerbeast, (me!) and half of Facebook were there "rolling in and out" of the vacant lot at 14111 South Military Trail in Delray Beach all of us getting our gastronomic fix from the most recent player in the South Florida mobile food craze, The Rolling Stove.

Let's start with the truck, definitely an eye catcher! The Rolling Stove is a big red truck with ingenius art work of a fire stove with an elevated smoke stack reaching high into the sky and flamming flames burning up the entire truck. This mobile food truck gets an 'A' for such a creative and imaginative look.

The main items on the menu are listed as Fuel. The accompaniments are called Fire Starters and the beverages and desserts are called Fire Extinguishers, again very creative and appealing.

The food. Not all burgers are created equal and if you think a burger is a burger and fries are fries, well I strongly suggest you follow these two blogs @bugerbeast @frenchfryfairy and go from there. The Stove Burger, The Rolling Stove's menu namesake ROCKED IT! It's a combination of ground beef and bacon, ketchup and mayo, I had crispy fried onion straws on my burger you can also have grilled onions if you choose. The burger wasn't a perfectly manufactured beef patty, but a handmade, hand-pressed grilled burger; making it all the more less like fast food. The sesame seed bun brought it all together, it was buttery soft and melted in your mouth. This was one great burger.

My Fire Starter was Ron's Bites, which is 1.5 lbs of sliced baked potatoes, then fried and topped with cheddar and parmesean-reggiano cheese. Kinda hard to go wrong there, don't ya think? (and no I did not eat them all!) Burger Beast shared his Cheddar Fries with me (as if 1.5 lbs of baked/fried potatoes wasn't enough) which are hand cut meduim thick fries with lots of salt just the way a french fry should be!

I had a bite of the Jerk Chicken Sandwich which is pulled chicken packed with heat and flavor from the secret jerk spice served on Texas Toast topped with fried onion straws, coleslaw and cheddar cheese. A bite was all I could handle. Burger Beast told me I was lame. At this point I was starting to hallucinate from all the calories, I'm lucky if I eat 3 tablespoons of yogurt for lunch, after today I won't be eating for 6 weeks. But...but...but this Jerk Chicken Sandwich warrants another visit; this is not your fast-food Chicken Sandwich, it is one of taste, flavor and quality. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, you can eat for under $10.

I give The Rolling Stove and all the other mobile food trucks a lot of credit this is not easy work and damn it's hot! I was melting just standing there eating. It's definitely a labor of love and one you should check out in your travels around South Florida. My one bit of advice, bring your appetite!
