Believe it or not, it has been 50 years since the Rolling Stones formed in London in April 1962. Although only Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are the only members that have been around for that long, Charlie Watts has been in the band since January 1963 and Ronnie Wood isn't too far away, having been a full-time member since March 1975.
They released two live albums in 2011: Brussels Affair (Live 1973) and The Rolling Stones: Some Girls Live In Texas '78. Their last studio album, A Bigger Bang, was released September 5, 2005 and ended up going platinum. Their most recent tour finished in 2007. Luckily, fans might not have too long to hear the veteran rockers again.
Recently, Wood spoke with the Radio Times and hinted at the possibility of the Stones going back on the road. "That's what we're on the verge of," he said. "I dunno what the hell is gonna happen yet but we all feel we owe it to ourselves and to the people to do something."
To tease fans more, Wood also said the band had rehearsals that happened before Christmas 2011.
"Basically, get the boys feeling comfortable with each other, 'cause we're all ready to go individually. It's just a matter of tying up loose ends and coming together as a unit."
