The Rock vs. John Cena: Who is winning the Wrestlemania war of words?

Wrestlemania is only a four weeks away, with a flurry of story lines with the superstars of WWE running at full gear heading into the biggest show of the year. CM Punk and the Nexus are pursuing Randy Orton, Triple H has laid down the challenge for the Undertaker’s ‘Streak’, and World Champion Edge is going to defend his 10 lbs of gold against Alberto Del Rio. All these stories have interest, but one angle is the top talking point of Wrestlemania 27: John Cena vs. The Rock....or rather The Miz vs. John Cena with the Rock mocking both WWE Championship match.

Since making his return to WWE three weeks ago, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has lured back millions (AND MILLIONS!) of ‘Attitude Era’ fans who left pro wrestling years ago. Add to it the massive wave of mainstream press praising the Rock’s stellar on-the-mic performance on RAW in the past month, and you got a man who is dominating the wrestling world with just his one-of-a-king verbal powers.

The most provocative part of the Rock’s electric promo segments is how he has set his sights on WWE’s biggest active star, John Cena. Rock making note to a 2008 interview where Cena dissed Rock for ‘abandoning’ the WWE for Hollywood, and effectively questioning his passion for pro wrestling. That very real issue is the core of the on-fire promos that Rock and Cena have used as their base for their war of words.

There is no doubt that these two men are also getting the green light from WWE  to break away from the PG rating, as they both using colorful language and edgy humor to insult one another. This rare exception to WWE's PG status has made for some very entertaing barbs thrown both ways. Cena utilized his long unused rapping skills to lay into Johnson. Johnson who even though he appeared via satellite this past week when RAW was in Buffalo, delivered another memorable promo making the strong case that he paved the way for Cena to make movies. It was especially biting when The Rock ending his segment by calling Cena a "yabba dabba b*tch".  Add to it the day-to-day internet blows these two are throwing at one another via Twitter, this has become THE story in wrestling.  So who is winning this fight?

My wrestling buddy Pat Creed who co-hosted Rumble Radio with myself, told me this week that the score should read Rock 2 and Cena 0. This Examiner feels that even though Cena is being outclassed overall by The Rock, his rapping segment two weeks ago earns him a point making it Rock 2 and Cena 1.

So who do YOU think is winning the promo war between John Cena and The Rock? Is WWE Champion The Miz the big loser here?  Post your comments down below in the comment box and let us know who you think is winning.
