The Rock may want to consider wearing ear plugs on January 14th when he returns to WWE Raw. It’s been almost a year since The Rock has appeared on WWE Raw and if the fans in Houston are anything like the rest of the country, they are poised to give The Rock a heroes welcome.
After The Rock’s big win last year against John Cena at Wrestlemania 28, Johnson promised all the WWE fans that he would return. He also promised to challenge for the WWE Heavyweight Championship. With that in mind, it looks as though The Rock has his eyes set on CM Punk and will challenge the competitor at this years Royal Rumble.
Despite his very busy movie schedule, The Rock has made time for the WWE in recent years. After taking a very long sabbatical from the ring, The Rock returned for a tag team encounter at Survivor Series 2011. It was there that The Rock teamed with John Cena. The partnership quickly fizzled out, as the two massive egos collided. Despite a mutual respect for one another, both knowing the hardships that come along with being the face of the WWE, Cena and Rock jousted at Wrestlemania 28. Despite his efforts, it was The Rock who came out on top in the “Once in a Lifetime” battle.
But don’t be surprised to see John Cena and The Rock lock up at Wrestlemania once again. According to some people who work within the industry, The Rock is scheduled to win the WWE title from CM Punk, and John Cena will likely win the Royal Rumble. This would set the match in motion one more time. And more than likely it would be John Cena who comes out on top this year. After all, when it comes to massive egos wrestling each other, they typically set it up so both men get a win.
