There are several reports going around that the WWE is looking at inducting Abdullah the Butcher and The Road Warriors into this year's HOF. According to a Sunday report by The Wrestling Observer, Butcher and the Road Warriors are considered "locks" for this year's draft class in addition to Shawn Michaels. The WWE HOF ceremonies will be held on April 2nd, the day before WrestleMania 27.
In my opinion, I don't think the Road Warriors should be inducted this year. IF we are to take the WWE HOF seriously, then the greatest tag-team of all-time should be the main inductees for a HOF class. They should not go in as a second billing to anyone. And it's clear, this is Shawn Michael's year. No other tag-team in pro-wrestling history has accomplished the accolades and world-wide popularity like the Road Warriors. Also known as the Legion of Doom, they conquered every major promotion on numerous continents.
As for Abdullah the Butcher, it makes sense to induct him into this year's class since they will be in his hometown. Abdullah is the king of hardcore wrestling and transcended any singular wrestling promotion. The Butcher was a monster and instilled fear in every territory or country he wrestled in. As a kid, there was no wrestler that scared me more than Abdullah the Butcher. Perhaps, he'll cater the event.
