Roam free: Ski season at Beaver Creek Resort opened on November 27th to excellent snow conditions and the Rockies are not disappointing as the winter progresses; but all that playing in the snow makes one hungry and The Ritz-Carlton doesn’t disappoint with its cuisine on property.

Alongside the world-class Spago, The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch opened its newest signature restaurant on December 8th – Buffalos, featuring a seasonal, ingredient-driven menu highlighting an open kitchen headed by Executive Chef, Fabien Biraud. “Guests will be able to see all the action inside the kitchen,” said Chef Biraud commenting on the new restaurant concept. At Buffalos, there is a sense of comfort and contemporary, rustic cuisine created from locally, farm-sourced ingredients blended with warm but crisp service in a relaxing environment. Beer enthusiasts will also appreciate the wide selection of local craft beer on draught and by the bottle (Colorado is known as the Napa Valley of Beer), all of which can pair beautifully with menu selections such as the Bison Burger, Bison Chili, or even the decadent Bison Tartare. But to truly compliment your dining and cocktail experience here, December 8th marked a special day for the property with the opening of the exclusive adult accommodation-- Bachelors Lounge…

This grown-up addition is the perfect place to unwind with the finest of company and enjoy imported cigars outside along with signature spirits and a Sommelier-crafted wine list from around the world. The bartenders, sommeliers and mixologists will create pairings for guests between cigars, spirits, beer or wine. The vibe is the perfect blend of sultry and cozy, offering live music on select nights, a hookah experience with loose tobacco in flavors such as Passion Fruit, Pumpkin Spice, Vanilla, Rose and Orange-Pineapple and of course the Vaportini. This revolutionary way of consuming alcohol, is inhaled rather than swallowed. The spirits are smooth, subtle and a delicate way to feel extravagant. As per the exclusivity factor, arrangements to enjoy this new addition are necessary if you’d like to indulge, but it is well worth it to experience the views, the drinks and the best bourbon Bachelor can brew…

Paw-fect additions: The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch is the premier ski-in, ski-out experience in North America and as part of that experience, the resort pioneered Ski Valet services over a decade ago; but this winter, not only are the ski-valet services even better than ever, the resort has two new offerings that take them above and beyond a guests expectations.
Whether you’re trying to look like a Warren Miller athlete or for those with kiddos know, there is nothing like capturing those first tracks down the mountain; well now GoPro digital cameras–including a hands-free chest harness and 8GB SD memory card are available to rent for $40 per day. Also, new this season is the alpine retailer Gorsuch. The retailer opened an apparel and gift shop on the fourth floor as well as a ski and snowboard equipment rental location on the fifth floor. Gorsuch rents the finest ski equipment available with exclusive brands from around the world. Plus if you don’t want to leave the comfort of your newly re-modeled room, the new in-room boot fitting service is available for Club Level Guests, anticipating the needs of families for a private fitting experience to get you on the hill easier and faster.

Also, be sure to capture a unique ski-vacation memory with ‘Bachelor’, the Resort’s resident canine ambassador during ‘Paw Prints.’ The photo opportunity on the Mountainside Terrace will occur Wednesdays and Saturdays from 3 to 4 pm, with guests able to collect their personalized ‘Paw Print,’ an unforgettable memory.

But really all memories here are unforgettable; for pet-loving families to snow addicted couples, there is something for everyone. As guests are quickly booking the new Peak and Pinnacle Ski Package or the Hit the Slopes package, there are endless ways to relish every second of rustic elegance for yourself. It’s a New Year, a new Ritz and the perfect opportunity to experience the best in mountain luxury…
