The Health Guru guy, a Chicago native, Christopher Sasha, is taking a stance inside the boxing ring on October 19th at the 22nd annual charity event entitled Ringside for Mercy’s Sake taking place at the Chicago Marriot Downtown, 540 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago. This fundraiser will draw thousands of people to it and will benefit the underprivileged young men and women at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
Christopher Sasha has it all. He is a highly respected healthy lifestyle consultant, successful male model, author, entrepreneur, and personal trainer whose clients comprise a veritable Who’s Who list of business leaders and celebrities. One word that coins all that Sasha does is: healthbodyologist. What a mouthful!
Sasha does in-home visits as he travels to his clients’ homes. He also visits corporate gyms since he believes that it is vital to stay on top of his game by keeping up with the fitness industry and by sharing that with those that seek his guidance.
He keeps up with the game by attending educational programs and seminars that reveal the cutting-edge information that is essential to the ever-changing lifestyle industry. He has explored the various philosophies of diets that don’t work in the end and shares his secrets with his clients so that he can help them improve their health and keep it that way.
Christopher Sasha is very devoted to the cutting edge philosophy and engages in high-level sports such as kickboxing and Golden Gloves boxing. He feels that if he combines this level of physical activity with healthy eating, and by setting short-term goals and commitments that he has uncovered the secret ingredients to his Greek-god physique.
Sasha is a fashion model for Stewart Talent modeling so he realizes what it requires to look and feel your best both inside and out. Models especially have to eat healthfully and exercise daily. He also brings a vast amount of knowledge with his bodybuilding competing days, taking Second Place Mr. Chicago land in 1996, to his fitness programs. “The only way to control your health management is through proper diet, exercise and rest.”
He is the author of the recently-released book Transforming Your Lifestyle One Belief at a Time (ABsolutely FABulously FIT, LLC, 2012). This unusual athlete is not typical of the hugely successful business person, in fact, in high school Christopher was voted “Most Likely to Spend His Life in Jail” by his classmates. He grew up on the gritty back streets of Chicago, so he learned what it was like to have numerous scrapes with the law.
His life has not been one of luxury. He was scrawny, nearly-emaciated at times and always picked last as a teammate on the playground. He lost his mother when he was merely eight years old. He and his four siblings proved too much for their father and thus were turned over to foster care where he was bounced from foster home to foster home. It is a wonder he survived.
Graduating from high school with a 1.1 grade point average (“They just wanted to be rid of me so they gave me a diploma,” he says), Sasha was admittedly insecure, with low self-esteem and little hope of a productive future. After working menial jobs, he tried a stint in the Navy for no better reason than having been inspired by the movie Top Gun. “It was nothing like the movie,” Sasha laughs, but later in life he would come to appreciate the lessons of discipline the Navy imparted to him. Coming home, he enrolled in the local community college but flunked the entrance exam (“I think I even misspelled my own name”) and was forced to take remedial math and English courses.
After that, Sasha decided to go back to school. But not just any school. He enrolled in prestigious DePaul University. He even surprised himself at being accepted. He had a new-found dedication to putting his life together which had him studying hard and it even earned him a spot on the Dean’s List. He graduated with a finance degree and went to work in the business world where his ensuing achievements would add to his growing confidence.
All the while, Sasha continued bodybuilding, something he had been introduced to through a friend while at DePaul. Soon he was doing it competitively. He went back to modeling with great success, sticking with it even through the lean times common to those trying to make a name for themselves in such a highly-competitive field. Those modeling days became the days he most credits for his future career accomplishments. Says Sasha: “I finally was able to couple my attitude of perseverance with a belief that I was good enough. I finally realized that the only time you’re not good enough is when you quit.”
Over time, Christopher Sasha gained the knowledge he needed to keep himself in top physical condition which led inexorably to his career as a personal trainer. His modeling and bodybuilding have helped him create a lifestyle of healthy exercise and dietary habits. He claims that what he’s learned is surprisingly simple once a person understands how the human body truly functions.
He is highly acclaimed for his success with his clients, and encourages by them to share the knowledge he has lent them. Sasha recently decided to reveal his program with Transforming Your Lifestyle One Belief at a Time. Tackling the subjects of diet, nutrition, and exercise and cutting through the overwhelming amount of information (and misinformation) that’s out there, Sasha simplifies and offers an easy-to-understand, tried-and-tested methodology for a fit lifestyle and healthy physique.
Christopher Sasha is now giving back to the community – back to his roots and is willing to help all the kids in dire straits – like he was before he became determined to achieve it all. He loves it! Don’t miss seeing him participate in the Ringside for Mercy’s Sake by jumping in the boxing ring for a boxing bout to support the worthy mission of the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls! Mark your calendars for October 19th.
