Earlier today, the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis was filled with over 1,000 spinning cycles and equally as many sweaty people.  Life Time Fitness organized a record-breaking 2 hour cycling class dubbed "The Ride of a Lifetime" which hosted 1,052 participants.

Bahram Akradi, the Life Time Fitness Chairman, President, and CEO, led the class, along with a few top LTF spin instructors.  There were 50 other LTF spin instructors scatter among the crowd in order to pump up the participants.  Akradi led the majority of the workout, passing his headset off to other instructors for about 20-30 of the 120 minutes.

The event was officially certified as a new Guinness World Record by Guinness Official, Kimberly Partrick, who attended the event and made the live post-event announcement.  The Ride of a Lifetime broke the old record of 600+ from a recent event in Texas (which was also hosted by Life Time Fitness).
