If you're anything like me, you weren't too happy with the direction of Joe Manganiello's character on True Blood, Alcide Herveaux had taken. Since becoming Pack Master of the Shreveport wolves, it seemed Alcide's ego had been greatly inflated. Granted, he was their fearless leader, but his brutal attitude began to make him unappealing. I was beginning to really dislike Alcide...no, really...I cringed when he came onto the screen. (Nothing against Mr. Manganiello himself! I could look at him all day!)
After last week's episode when Alcide had one heck of a fight with Rikki and returned the kidnap victims to Sam, my respect for him rapidly returned! It was the Alcide I remembered having googly-eyes for back in season three. The good, kind-hearted wolf that didn't give a hoot about pack politics. It's about darn time we saw the return of our favorite wolf--his ego was starting to put me off a bit (those abs certainly kept my interest high, though!).
So, thank you to the writers for bringing back the wolf we love. The good guy, not the one drunk with power. He had leader potential, but it started to go to his head and personally, I didn't like it.
Tell me readers, which Alcide do you prefer?
