It’s official – James Bond, aka Agent 007 - is back and he is bringing with him Daniel Craig back on big screens.

The phenomenon of this both American and International sensation has been debated many times in all over the world, but apparently the theme of a secret agent who is both good looking, smart and inventive appeals to a very wide audience. Thus, it’s not a secret that once an actor becomes part of the James Bond movie, he is instantly a global star – a celebrity with an international passport.

James Bond movies for me, personally, is all about - locations, locations, and locations. And only then I expect to see (to discover) exotic international unknown actresses and  -  gadgets. And, of course, I never mind seeing Daniel Craig taking a deep in the ocean...

Same goes for a James Bond girl, who, apparently, is always a “foreign beauty” and is usually portrayed by an up-and-coming international actress. Thus, James Bond makes any woman – not only a desirable one – but also a recognized star…

I personally has gotten to appreciate James Bond two years ago after I spent a whole summer every Monday in front of a big screen on a lawn in Crystal City (18th and Bell Street, across from Arena Stage and the Crystal City Metro Station) watching a marathon of all Agent 007 films – from the earliest to the latest….And I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was not the only one who found the inventive technology of James Bond in the 1970s - ridiculous, but in a good sense of it since it's obviously that Bond's gadgets from the earliest films are a bit outdated now. I also was pleasantly surprised that many of my "new  movie friends" on the lawn shared my likes for Daniel Craig over all other “James Bonds”.

For the upcoming summer movies - Crystal Screen 2011 – Outdoor Film Festival, check the schedule here. It's all about Star Trek this summer.

This time though, the details of the movie are not yet revealed, but I have a very good feeling that it’s time to send James Bond to either Iceland, Alaska, Dubai or India – because it’s time we finally learn: 1. How people live around volcanoes like Eyjafjallajokull (maybe they can set a chase around erupting volcanoes?), 2. How in Alaska they train locals to shoot a bear and - at the same time - avoid PETA, 3. Whether face control exists in Dubai's night clubs and if my American ID would work there, and 4. The industry of re-bottling water in Mumbai slums…

I, personally, would like to see beyond the stereotypes of the cultures we usually get to  see in movies. I, personally, would like to see a movie about India that inspires me to travel to India, and not a movie like “Slumdog Millionaire” that makes me wonder whether I’d be able to eat, drink and sleep without getting a diphtheria or diaria.

In any case, the new James Bond movie would become the 23rd movie and it’s being planned to open on November 9, 2012. The director rumored to be Sam Mendes.

Who was your favorite James Bond?
