The Return of Harry Potter?

Yesterday, Variety and Deadline Hollywood reported that director David Yate is in discussion to direct the Harry Potter spinoff trilogy Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The title gets its name from the textbook prominently featured in the Harry Potter films. Hence, the story will take place years before the Harry Potter films. However, magic exists in J.K. Rowling’s' universe, it's not impossible for Harry Potter to appear in the stories.

For this story, the protagonist will be a character called Newt Scamander, the author of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. WB has set November 18, 2016 as the date for the start of this new trilogy.

Director David Yate is not unfamiliar to the Harry Potter universe, having directed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and so fans can rest assured knowing that the Harry Potter universe is in good hands.
