In "The Respawnables" you are a soldier fighting for your life from mission to mission in this third person shooter from Zynga Inc. It is a game with never ending action that will keep your thumbs glued to your iPhone.
Each mission gives you several new objectives which you must complete in order to collect money and experience points. This leads to upgrades and new clothes for your soldier. The fun thing about "Respawnables" is that it does not have your standard upgrades. Yes there are new and improved weapons but there are new and fun body parts as well. You can purchase new heads and legs to jazz up the look of your soldier before going into battle.
The cartoon look and feel of the game comes into play with your purchases. There are heads with dreadlocks as well as an emo head and a zombie. This gives you the ability to keep your character fresh throughout the game. There are corresponding clothes to each head, letting you complete the outfits.
The gameplay is fast and action-packed. Bullets fly and explosions abound from both hand grenades and exploding barrels. This make it easier to wipe out multiple enemies at once, increasing your points.
Each mission is timed which never seems like enough. This sometimes makes progress difficult. An early mission requires you to kill twenty-five enemies using only your assault rifle. This proves difficult with the little over two minutes they give you.
Players can choose to play either on or offline as well as single player or joining a team. The number of options gives you some diversity with your gameplay.
Within the games shop there is a section for feedback and actions. The feedback is a great idea, linking you directly to the games developer. The action section on the other hand seems pointless, being little more than advertisements of some kind shoved into the game.
Both of these options can be easily ignored.
The game looks and plays well, adding touches of comedy, such as dancing soldiers, to a great third person action shooter.
