The Resort at Squaw Creek is best known as one of the West’s top ski destination. Located in stunning Squaw Valley, Calif., just five minutes from North Lake Tahoe, the 405-room resort has everything skiing enthusiasts desire – great powder, outdoor hot tubs, terrific restaurants and a world class spa that caters to the area’s past with treatments such as the Squaw Valley Sacred Journey that uses the centuries-old healing secrets of Native Americans.

The spa (and fitness center) at the Resort at Squaw Creek are just two of the amenities available for skiers and non-skiers alike. Yes, ski resorts are made for skiers but there’s also plenty of other activities to offer those who come to the Resort at Squaw Creek.

“We have a children’s program, an ice skating rink and sledding. A lot of people really like dogsledding, too,” said Jade Hayes, director of recreation at the Resort at Squaw Creek. “And it’s just a beautiful property to walk around. It’s got a real serene feel to it.”

The resort’s Mountain Buddies Kids Kamp features allows children (ages four to 12) to choose from a variety of daily activities, each supervised by a staff member. Winter activities include sledding, broom ball, ice skating, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and yes, even snow ball fights.

For those who want to indulge without the kids, the Resort at Squaw Creek is offering a one-night Valentine’s Day package (beginning at $479 per couple) that includes accommodations, a Valentine's Day four course dinner with welcome cocktail at Six Peaks Grille, valet parking, and a $50 breakfast credit for the next morning.
