Relationships are important to anyone especially those of the romantic nature. Students with disabilities are not exempt from this phenomena, they too what to have relationships and despite their disabilities they are very capable of having a relationship. Parents have a difficult time talking about relationships with any student let alone a student with a disability. However, it is important for any parent to start having a conversation with their children, so that the children will be better prepared when the time has come for them to start a relationship.
In order to assist parents the agencies in Berks County specifically The Co-County Wellness Services, The Wyomissing Foundation, and the Metamorphosis Performing Company are holding an event to talk about being a teenager, how to affectively date, and sexual health. This event will be held at the Millers Center for the Arts at Reading Area Community College at 4 North 2nd Street, Reading, PA 19601 on November 17th 2013 at 3pm. It is free to the community for parents and students ages 12 and up. This Event is an interactive theatrical production designed to spark the conversation about sexual health.
