The 12th Annual Pinot Noir Summit will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at The Golden Gate Club at the Presidio in San Francisco. Sign up for easy, one-stop sipping at the Grand Tasting, where you can try wines provided by 50 of the world’s top Pinot Noir producers paired with gourmet treats provided by three of the Bay Area’s top restaurants. Or maybe you want to jump-start things in a more civilized manner-by first joining in the fun at the Sparkling Wine Brunch, featuring top bubblies made with Pinot Noir. I just took a peek at what they are serving and trust me, this is one tasty buffet starting with a Seafood station ( think Smoked Salmon accompanied by Mini Bagels, Dill-Cream Cheese, Chopped Red Onion, Lemon and Capers ) a Savory Station ( I’m drooling over the sounds of the Torta Rustica with Roasted Red Peppers, Italian Fontina and Black Forest Ham ) and of course, a Pastry Station ( hello, Fresh Scones with Caramelized Ginger, Lemon-Blueberry and Cranberry-Orange!) Cerebral types can finally get the answer to the question on so many red lips: “Carneros vs. Russian River Valley: Is there a difference?”, just one of the informative workshops being offered. Or show them what you’ve got at The Pinot Noir Showdown, where you can challenge the pros at a blind tasting.
