The Red Dirt Road Band is a Southern Rock/Country band with a message of hope and salvation through Jesus Christ. We do not bring a gloom and doom message, but a message of hope and celebration, knowing that we have been forgiven of our sins and are now headed for an eternity in the very presence of God. We believe that, when one’s sins have been forgiven, there is reason for celebration. The salvation of one’s soul should change one’s outlook in such a drastic manner that the joy one now experiences should flood out of his or her soul as a living witness to the freedom and forgiveness he or she now enjoys.
The members of The Red Dirt Road Band are Tom Farrier, Bass and Vocals; Roger Holman, Guitar and Vocals; Rob Sheppard, Drums; and Robert Driskell, Guitar. Each one of us has a long history of playing music in bands as we grew up; some venues we have played in were not of the highest caliber, I’m sure. Nevertheless, these gigs enabled us to hone our craft so that, once we became believers in Jesus Christ, we could use those skills and talents to advance the Kingdom of God.
The members of the Red Dirt Road Band are first and foremost committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. We combine this commitment with a love of music in order to share the Gospel with a lost and hurting world. We consider ourselves a fusion of country, southern rock, blues, and classic rock and our musical style resembles such artists as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers Band, and 38 Special.
We have played at the Wilburton Fall Fest (Robber’s Cave); we have played at several churches in the Oklahoma City area and events that these churches have sponsored. Our upcoming gigs include the Blanchard May Daze event; the Blanchard Concert Series; the Edmond Arts Festival; the Rodeo Opry; Oklahoma Live; and the Cowboy Country Church in Chickasha, OK. We love to play music and we love to serve the Lord. It is a rare and humbling opportunity to combine what one loves to do with one’s ministry. The Red Dirt Road Band is blessed to be able to do this.
