The real reason to disbelieve Obama's skeet shooting picture: Colbert

When U.S. President Barack Obama said during an interview with the New Republic that he often participated in skeet shooting at Camp David, the right wing immediately said "You lie!" When the White House released a photo of Obama skeet shooting on Saturday, instead of fixing things, it started a round of Photoshopping accusations, and on Monday, Stephen Colbert showed viewers why.

During the Monday episode of his "The Colbert Report" show, the faux conservative took on the right-wingers who demanded to see the birth certificate of Obama's shotgun. Colbert began, saying:

Folks, we are in the waning days of our Second Amendment rights, and I hope you're making the most of it.

Calling Obama "President Kumbaya O’HempShirt," Colbert showed a video clip of Obama's visit to Minneapolis on Monday, where he discussed gun control.

Colbert then took up the "Skeet Shooting Truthers," showing a number of clips, including Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), who was seen saying "If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why has he not referenced it, at any point in time?"

Referencing a Fox News clip, Colbert added,

If Obama really loved guns, why would he be using them safely? He'd be waving them around at a petting zoo, picking off baby goats.

Then, though, Colbert showed all his viewers the secret to the image. Pulling out and using C.S.I.-style magic, akin to tachyon emitters on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," here's what viewers were shown:

He’s on the sound stage where they faked the moon landing!
