Then the lobbyist paid by corporaate lawyers who know absolutely nothing of what goes on in the industry , go out and corrupt the politicians to leave this little clause our or that sentence out, basically making the entire law only minimally effective.
Once these laws are put into place , offshore we have these long term "fat cat" "ball breakers" who have gotten themselves appointed as PIC's - persons in charge , who basically supervise and bully those other persons onboard the offshore facilities into doing things as they see fit rather than in compliance with the laws.
Most recently on a offshore floating production facility located in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana , the senior PIC instructed the lower class operators to allign piping on the production module so as to dump over 1,200 barrels of hazardous waste overboard the ship rather than separating and collecting for disopasl.
Amazingley these production operators all knew they were violating the Acts to Prevent Pollution from Ships in discharging the pollution , yet everyone of them cooperated and assisted in the illegal dumping "to keep their paychecks"
Now these men each face 5 years of prison time , or a $ 250,000 dollar fine and loss of their ability to ever work offshore again. Yet knowing all of this they each chose to keep their $ 60,000 a year jobs, and take the risk of getting caught.
Not one of them thought of the hazardous chemicals entering the Gulf of Mexico waters and contaminating the seafood life , one operator going so far as to say "i live in Texas , i don't eat seafood so it doesn't affect me"
Our offshore PIC"s persons in charge are morally corrupting the men beneath them in order for them to keep a job. This corruption is giving the industry CONVIENT INTEGRITY , violating the laws , dumping deadly toxins into the seafood food chain for people along the gulf coast to become sick upon eating , and then taking their kids to baseball practice on saturdays and church on sundays.
Convient Integrity , making sick and killing 1.000's while taking home a pay check for wife and kids and going to church on sundays.
Corrupt men without integrity , instead living in denial of their corrupt acts as criminals.
