While the backers of Obamacare have been attempting to spin women’s rights as a focal point, clearly the affront to religious freedom is the main sticking point in the lawsuits and subsequent rulings that have been taking place across the United States.
Dozens of religious freedom lawsuits have been filed across the country in a rebuke to the federally mandated abortion drugs that are being forced upon religious liberty.
The Christian owners of Hoppy Lobby are facing fines of up to $1.3 million dollars per day for failing to comply with the contraceptive mandates that include abortion. The executive arm of Hobby Lobby shows no sign of backing down from their religious objections.

The main issue of religious freedom for the corporation is being argued from the point that the company should not be forced to choose between its religious convictions and following the law.
The owner and founder of Dominos Pizza Tom Monahan is a devout Roman Catholic and has successfully argued that contraception is not health care but a “gravely immoral” practice. Federal Judge Lawrence P. Zatkoff agreed and issued an injunction on behalf of Domino Farms Corporation from being forced to comply in mandatory contraception coverage.

“The government has failed to satisfy its burden of showing that its actions were narrowly tailored to serve a compelling interest”, stated Judge Zatkoff who granted the injunction.
Another federal judge, Amy St. Eve, granted an injunction on behalf of Triune Health Group and owners Christopher and Mary Ann Yep from having to comply with the Obamacare mandate. The Obamacare mandate for contraceptive care is being forced into the arena of where it belongs which is all about watering down the religious freedom of individuals and religious organizations. Presenting the mandated contraceptive coverage as a women’s rights issue is proving to be a political smokescreen.
The multiple entities of the Roman Catholic Church and all of its bishops have individually filed lawsuits to protest the mandated coverage of Obamacare which violates their articles of faith.

Forcing compliance to the federal mandates will be the largest government incursion into the religious freedom provision of the US Constitution in history. The separation of church and state concept will be tested by an ultimate federal ruling.
