Brandon Myers, a very productive tight end for the Oakland Raiders last year, might hit the road. However, should the Raiders let this happen?
According to the Bleacher Report, the Raiders should not let the tight end go. The article released on the internet on Thursday morning stated that Myers is a reliable asset for the offense, and that Myers will enhance Oakland’s attack next season as well.
Last season, Myers caught 79 passes for 806 yards with four touchdowns. The tight end also added 275 yards after the catch, and helped the Raiders move the chains 41 times.
Myers was considered one of the most reliable tight ends in the NFL last season. Also, the tight end was one of the best offensive players of the Oakland team, along with Carson Palmer.
If the Raiders choose to switch their scheme next year to the power running game, Myers would come in handy for that game plan as well.
Bleacher Report stated that Myers came from the Iowa Hawkeyes were they are known for being physical at the line, part of the Big Ten division playing style. So, his services as a blocker could be used to lead Darren McFadden through the wall.
The article stated that Brandon Myers was not sure if he was going to stay with the Oakland Raiders. The player stated that his agent was handling everything. Moreover, Myers told the press that this will probably be solved within the next two weeks.
The reason why Myers might leave is due to the fact that he could ask for more money for his contract, which is rightly due to him, but the Raiders are trying to cut costs. This is the issues at hand with Myers.
