The Queen of Mean is coming to Napa

Lisa Lampanelli is a funny, funny woman. Known as the queen of mean, Lampanelli got her first big break at the New York Friars’ Club where she and her foul mouth got to roast Chevy Chase, and to be honest, just about everyone else in the room, as well. That’s just the way it is when you show up at the same place as the comic whose website is

Lisa Lampanelli to perform in Napa
Dan Dion

Her insults are the things on which she has built her career, and though she may, at one moment, be insulting you or your precious demographic to the point of making you want to cry, there is always the chance she will move on and make fun of those people you’ve always secretly derided. Pretty much nothing is off limits when it comes to Lampanelli’s comedy. She doesn’t shy away from ethnic humor or racial insults, slurs of all descriptions are her strong suit, and there isn’t a stereotype that she hasn’t exploited and badmouthed. Lampanelli is nothing if not an equal opportunity offender.

So, why would you want to pay money to go see this foul-mouthed broad? Because she is super funny, and behind all that mean is a sweetheart from Trumbull, Connecticut, who does come across as genuinely nice despite her particularly twisted view on the world. Remember, be prepared to laugh as hard at yourself as you will at your neighbors, and that everything is going to be all right.

Tickets for this night of comedy can be purchased online at or by visiting the box office at Uptown Theatre, 1350 Third Street in Napa between the hours of 12 pm and 5 pm, Monday - Friday or Saturday 12 pm to 4 pm. Tickets are $75, $55, or $45 for ages 18 and over and due to mature content.

Doors open at 7 pm, and show time for Lisa Lampanelli begins at 8 pm on Friday, August 1, 2014.
