The Puppy Bowl IX’s kitty half-time show

Were you able to watch Puppy Bowl IX last evening? If you had been able to watch the multitude of fantastic puppies that were able to take place in the event, you would certainly have had a great laugh. Between the beautiful puppy participants, the hedgehog cheerleaders, “Meep the Bird,” the bird Tweeter (@MeepTheBird) and the guinea pig blimp pilots, the entire event was a great deal of entertainment for dog lovers everywhere.

The Bissell Kitten Halftime Show did not exclude fluffy feline contenders, no sir! These small bits of fur were out playing and entertaining the crowds with the professional assistance from none other than Animal Planet’s Jackson Galaxy. Galaxy is the host of the Animal Planet series My Cat From Hell.

The show was, as they said, full of “kitty-cute overload, kitty-cut coma!” The little sweeties were given oodles of toys to pounce on and play with. On top of that, they were intrigued by the confetti that was showered down upon them; batting at it from above. The amount of soft, cuddly, bouncy, curious balls of fluff pouncing about the stage in fits of wonderment could cause any animal lover to feel as though they had landed right in the middle of the perfect kitten dream – made you want to rush right out and get a kitten!

The kitties joined the Puppy Bowl in 2006. This is their seventh adorable appearance.

The Puppy Bowl takes into effect the fact that all little animals are filled with wonderment and delight. It is the biggest event on four paws. The Water Bowl Cam provides a new angle to the highly anticipated canine annual affair.

For the past nine years, the Animal Planet has featured a simply adorable troupe of canines ready to square off on the grand gridiron of the Animal Planet Stadium. The “Most Valuable Puppy” Award was presented to Marta, a small Schnauzer/Beagle mix. Marta put up the grand fight and faced her opponents with courage and dignity. She out-hustled puppies twice her size and drove her toy into the end zone.

Animal Planet got several other species of animals besides the kittens and puppies in on the act as you read. It was amazing that neither the puppies nor kitties tried to chew on the hedgehogs, as hedgehogs are very popular squeaky soft toys for pets.

If you did not get the opportunity due to the other highly anticipated game that was on last evening, make sure to check for reruns on Animal Planet or go on the computer and check out how to view the highlights of the halftime show – or even the Bowl itself. It is worth it. Really!
