English rock band The Psychedelic Furs will be this months featured act at Universal Studios Velvet Sessions. The band formed in 1977 led by singer Richard Butler, with brother Tim Butler on bass guitar. Over the years their music has gone through many changes from art rock to new wave and punk rock.
Their song Pretty in Pink is said to have been the inspiration for the famous cult classic film Pretty in Pink directed by the late John Hughes. The song was included on the 1986 films platinum-selling soundtrack. Reportedly the bands lead singer Richard Butler remains adamant that the cinematic interpretation had very little to do with the song's original intent.
The current Psychedelic Furs touring line-up includes Richard Butler, Tim Butler, Paul Garisto, Mars Williams, Amanda Kramer and Rich Good. You can see them live at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando's 2014 Velvet Sessions lobby concert series continues . The band will be performing hits "Love My Way," "Pretty In Pink," "All That Money Wants," "House," "Until She Comes," "Heartbreak Beat" and more!
