A young mother and friend of mine recently gave birth to a set of twins in a downtown Atlanta hospital. The boys were born a little early and have subsequently suffered a number of medical struggles. In fact, one continues his fight, presently.
A judge in New York just decided that the controversial Plan B drug can be purchased over the counter provided buyers prove they are 17 years of age or older. All others must have a prescription. The Plan B drug, also referred to the morning after pill is used as emergency contraception which terminates pregnancy.
Pro-Life groups have been demonized for taking a stand in the right to life, stance. In a recent movement, brought on by the equality idea, many have chosen to plea for the lives of the unborn in the name of equality, as well.
The senseless murders around the country ranging from schools, theaters, shopping centers, etc., is seen by our nation as appalling, as it should be. I abhor the thought of someone taking another person’s life for any reason.
But there is an equally senseless act that occurs each day in abortion clinics, and that is the taking of innocent lives at the hands of medical staff.
Back in 2009, Abby Johnson, Bryan Director of Planned Parenthood, watched an ultrasound abortion procedure. She resigned, as a result. In a recent interview on the 700 Club, she mentioned how she watched as the thirteen week old baby struggled and fought to live. She had a complete change of heart. Interestingly, 78% of women who view an ultrasound before the procedure, reject the abortion.
The pro-life concept comes from the Biblical mandate and instruction.
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:” Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)
“That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.” Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)
Do I dare judge those who have had abortions or those who push for the murder of innocent children. I dare not. God alone is able to judge. “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” Matthew 7:1 (KJV)
However, those who know truth are also commanded to speak up. “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” Ezekial 3:18 (KJV)
A debate continues to brew regarding the rights of a woman to abort a fetus and the rights of the fetus to be born. Healthcare Reform, PPACA, provides for taxpayer funded abortions.
At the time, Ms. Johnson left Planned Parenthood, she claimed that it was struggling under the weight of the economy and had changed its business model from that of prevention to one that focused on abortion. She now ministers through, And Then There Were None, which helps those seeking to leave the abortion industry to find other employment.
Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, held strong opinions regarding birth control, abortion, and racism as evidenced by the following quote. “We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”
Continuing with the founder’s principles, one writer states, “Over 78% of Planned Parenthood Abortion clinics are located inside or within close proximity to black neighborhoods. Purely coincidental or intentional?”
Although Planned Parenthood claims to offer women’s health care services, it offers resources to refer clients out for breast screenings, while performing abortions in the clinics.
While Pro-Choice activists claim to give women a choice, Pro-Life speaks out to give a living human being, the right to life. After all, fetus, which is what the unborn child is referred to, is Latin for “young one” or “young child.”
Where you choose to stand on the issue is of course, your choice. I choose life.
