Rumors had been running rampant the last few days about Jimmy Fallon hosting the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards. NBC made an official announcement today which certified that the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon host would, indeed, be hosting the awards show.
NBC's newest late-night man will take the reigns from last year's CBS host, Neil Patrick Harris. "Hosting the Emmys has been a dream of mine ever since they told me I was doing it," Fallon joked following the announcement.
The Emmys seem to be a good fit for the funny man, who has previously hosted the MTV Movie Awards and MTV's Video Music Awards. Fallon also follows in the footsteps of his late-night predecessor, Conan O'Brien, who hosted the awards twice before leaving NBC earlier this year.
The nominees will be announced July 8, 2010, with the broadcast airing on August 29 on NBC.

He is by far the most un-funny a $ $ hole to ever live! Sorry, Jimmy. I believe you can be funny, just start smoking the pot again or SOMETHING. You are not cutting it right now.
We disagree on this one, Carol. I'm a big fan, maybe part of it is due to his awkwardness and juvenille humor. I just think he is kind of refreshing.
