September 30, 2013 -ATLANTA, Ga. - The rules of the game for advancement of gospel independent artist on a national level continue to change, thanks in part to innovative visionary, Dr. Teresa Jordan of The PrayzeFest Gospel Network (PGN) that is comprised of radio and television stations as well as national events and platforms. Jordan and her PGN team are heavy hitting ground-breakers in opening doors to give independent gospel artist a new voice in radio and television. Members of the PGN pack some pretty powerful punches when it comes to knocking out the established approach of artist gaining eminence in the gospel music industry.
Credit can rightfully be given to Jordan who created and developed the Prayze Factor People's Choice Awards (PFPCA), a nationally televised awards show for independent recording artist that is now in its third season for some of the ways the rules of the game have changed. For instance, one national platform requires that a project chart in the top 25 on at least two Nielsen charts to be considered for a nomination. However, that qualification alone would prevent most independent artist from being eligible to even be in the running for a nomination. By developing the PFPCA, Jordan has given that singer, that rapper, that mime, that dancer, that “voice” that is crying in the wilderness an opportunity to be seen and heard on national level by way of the PFPCA without the vigorous requirements that eliminate rather than elevate the independent artist.
Jordan is also responsible for the formation and implementation of The Reach Project. The Reach Project consist of artist across the world who are dedicated to changing the world, one soul at a time. Dubbed as “an independent artist movement like no other” with a mission for global evangelism, The Reach Project has touched lives around the globe.
Other notable efforts that the PGN has done to impact the manner in which an independent artist can emerge from an obscure beginning to a national finish includes the A Stellar Exclusive Artist Showcase, The Dove Awards Prayer-Breakfast Showcase and the Hurt Locker Campaign.
When an artist connects with the PGN, that artist is connecting with a team of people who are committed to the indie artist movement without compromise. The PGN empowers, energizes and equips the independent artist for national recognition and success.
Jordan and her band of powerful punchers are only just beginning to come up with cutting edge methods that will give the indie artist a new voice. Expect to see more inventive moves from the PGN staff in the upcoming months. We do not know what barrier PGN will take down next but we do know some wall will fall.
