The Power House (1714 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA ).
Since 1947 this has been the heart of Hollywood's Quintessential dive bar. A veritable black sheep, in a neighborhood traditionally dressed to kill. This cavernous dimly lit sanctuary tears away all inhibitions from the moment you enter inside it's vintage red brick walls.
Plainly, this is where the locals go. Crowded and gloating honesty in a plastic world, The Power House offers up some simple pleasures like; stiff drinks at low prices, friendly staff, and a Best of Juke Box.
With Vegas like sounds emanating from the dart game machine, you can always find a heated match being played and plenty of Parliament Lights to be smoked on their outdoor patio hidden in the back.
My tip: Don't not go!
