New York City's The Postelles entertained with their throwback rock/pop sound Thursday at the Double Door. Their sound, a mixture of Buddy Holly filtered by Television, is lean and tight without being contrived or overly poppy. The lead singer croons, in a manner reminiscent of The Strokes' Julian Casablancas. The Strokes comparison is pretty solid considering Albert Hammond Jr. produced The Postelles EP, White Night. Already a veteran of Bonnaroo and opening shows for Vampire Weekend, expect to see The Postelles in a late afternoon slot at more than a few major festivals this summer.
